the visitors' book was originally an installation for an exhibition at Marble Hill House, Twickenham. The work was based on the memories recorded in the Marble Hill House visitors’ book. The original installation of found objects and a book of images was placed in the dining parlour of the house which was once used as a café and was a focal point in the memories of visitors. Also shown below is a subsequent series of paintings (2012). The work is concerned with collective memory and the inherent use of interpretation and selectivity in the writing of history.
