identity: f(x)=x is a video installation based on mathematical notions of identity. Using found home movie footage, the film takes images from past and present to create instances where the images of parent and child match momentarily. This mapping of one image onto another draws a parallel with the process which underlies the construction of personal identity. The video is projected onto two suspended screens allowing the viewer to walk around the screens and view the film from different angles.
